Archive Research
Visitors interested in genealogy research and inquiries are invited to visit on Wednesday mornings year-round from 9:00 a.m. to noon. From September to May the archive is also open on the second and fourth Saturday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The archive building is located across the road from the Robert Fulton Birthplace and is handicapped-accessible with adjacent free parking.

The Recorder of Deeds office for Lancaster County is located at 150 North Queen Street. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Warrant maps with original property owners assigned by William Penn and a current property overlay will soon be available at Solanco Historical Society’s headquarters.
RESEARCH FEES:
For in-person archive access, the cost is $5.00 for non-members; there is no charge for members.
Research for distant applicants can be accomplished by our archivists. The fee is $15 per hour for members or $20 per hour for nonmembers. Most research can be accomplished within one hour.
COPYING FEES: Black and white copies of archive documents are charged at 20¢ each; color copies 30¢; photographs on photo paper $5.00; photos on regular copy paper $4.00 (high use of ink on photos); scanned copies 10¢ per page.
