FREE MONTHLY PROGRAMS
Solanco Historical Society offers free programs on the third Saturday of each month, except May and December, at its meeting room at 1932 Robert Fulton Highway, Fulton Township, 6 miles south of Quarryville, PA 17566 (across from the Robert Fulton Birthplace in the red brick building). The educational and informative presentations are provided by historians, collectors, teachers, authors and researchers. Programs begin shortly after 1:30 p.m. You’re welcome to join us!
The archive building is handicapped-accessible.
SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS through September 7th - The Robert Fulton Birthplace will be open Sunday and holiday (Independence Day and Labor Day) afternoons from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. for touring the Birthplace, with an informative video included. Behind the Birthplace is a kitchen garden where visitors are welcome to browse the historical plantings. About 200 feet southwest of the garden is a 1-1/2 mile loop trail with native plantings and a variety of habitats. The trail is open year-round.
SATURDAY, JUNE 20th at 1:30 p.m. - Stanley White, President and chief archivist of Solanco Historical Society, will present a free program at the archive building on the history of Camargo Mill, which is located in Quarryville. The Solanco Historical Society will hold its business meeting soon after the program. Anyone interested in learning more about the Society is welcome to attend.
